About Us
Animal Fanfare Publishing, Inc., was established in 1997 as a regional medium to support animal interests and enthusiasts. We have been instrumental in coordinating regional disaster preparedness, aid to the welfare of distressed animals, and support for our many local animal nonprofit organizations.
Our efforts have broadened to include all animal support groups in our 15-year publication run. Today PetFolio Magazine remains the premier pet magazine in Northern Nevada. We continue coverage of local, regional, and national topics including Wild Horse Rescue, FEI World Cup Equestrian Events, Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Eventing, and we are active in Destination Equus to broaden our readership’s appreciation of the multiple equine disciplines. In every single issue, we work closely with the SPCA of Northern Nevada and The Nevada Humane Society to further help our community’s animals.
PetFolio Magazine has been honored by our area’s nonprofits, quoted in Horse Illustrated, interviewed premier event riders and trainers, and met with jockey Kent Desormeaux and Horse Whisperer Monty Roberts during local visits. We directly raise funds for animal rescue with our annual Art Paws event, sanctioned by the City of Reno for the last 10 years. Our goal with all pet events is to bring home to our more than 45,000 readers the intricacies of balancing the responsibility of pet ownership with the love we all share for animals.
We offer the only up-to-date local animal rescue directory, great contests with a variety of animal winners, and comprehensive viewpoints on animal welfare, nutrition, training, CPR, rescue, and grooming in PetFolio Magazine.

Landess Legier Witmer holds a degree from The College of William & Mary. Having worked in the marketing industry for the last 20 years, Landess is the publisher and founder of PetFolio Magazine and PetFolioMagazine.com. Landess is a mother of two children, Sabel and Dexter, and wife to Bruce. Their home is filled with a myriad of animals including dogs, cats, horses, fish, and beautiful Bella the chinchilla. |

Michelle McHardy, Owner/Trainer All Things Equine, LLC created her business around her passion for horses. As Co-Editor of PetFolio Magazine, Michelle continues to pursue what she is passionate about: animals and animal welfare. Mother of four, Cassandra, Ashley, Mikala and James, Michelle shares her home with an extended family that includes four horses, two goats, two dogs, a cat, and a snake. |

Turi K. Everett - illustrator, artist, wife and mother – has always been fascinated with and inspired by the nature of animals. Turi received her formal education in Sweden, but expanded her experience through travel and living abroad. In fact, her many years in America enriched her life and work immensely. Upon returning to Scandinavia, Turi established her studio on the west coast of Sweden and continues to illustrate and help animals in America through PetFolio Magazine.
